Fonds consists of a letter to David Burpee from Enoch Barker, Sheffield, New Brunswick, 1846 and one to David Burpee from C.H. Barker, Saint John, New Brunswick, 1847. They are probably both written by Charles H. Barker, a former Sheffield schoolmate of David Burpee. "Enoch" may be a nickname.

The fonds consists of a journal or memorandum book compiled by Innes. It contains dates of death of her family members and other individuals, primarily Saint John residents; texts of sermons by clergy in Saint John including some for funerals; texts for prayers and Bible verses. There are 3 recipes for cures for such ailments as sore joints and rheumatism. Also included in the journal are dates and locations of fires in Saint John and Portland, and a few dates of storms and earthquakes or tremors. Dates of some marriages, mostly in Saint John and Portland, are also recorded in the journal.

It consists of account books, dating from 1865-1915, that contain the name of his patient, the type of treatment (medical, surgical, obstetrical, dispensing of medicine or extraction of tooth) and the fee charged. Also included are miscellaneous notes, letters, bills, and advertisements found in the account books.
