This fonds consists of photographs of Arthur Frederick Englehardt and his trip to the Klondike, at work on the Chilkoot Summit and in Dawson City, Yukon area, the North West Mounted Police (NWMP), and various Dawson City scenes. Album One consists of a captioned and annotated chronology of A. F. Englehardt's trip to the Klondike in 1898. The sequence starts in Victoria B. C. where he boarded the S. S. Tartar, up the White Pass to Lake Bennett, down the Yukon River aboard the small steamer Ora to Dawson City. The photographs begin on the journey from Dawson City to St. Michael, Alaska where he boarded a ship for Seattle via the Bering Sea and Pacific Ocean. The last part of the album shows Englehardt's stay in Atlin, B.C. with his brother R. S. during the winter of 1899. The third section of the album is an assemblage of family photographs in Dawson City when he later returned. The second album contains numerous membership cards, correspondence, business cards, newspaper clippings, letters of appointment and postcards. The photographs consist of activities around Dyea, views along the Chilkoot Trail, and the White Pass trail, Nome Alaska, and Dawson City. The third album has photographs of First Nations and pack dogs, Yukon Gold Company power plant on the Twelve Mile River, and the Yukon Ditch. The nitrate negatives are domestic scenes of family and social gatherings in the Dawson City area. The textual material includes books, a calendar and a brochure.
