The fonds consists of administrative correspondence, financial records, annual reports, and publications and general reports, relating to the work undertaken by the Edmonton Social Planning Council. The fonds has been organized into the following classes: General Correspondence 1929-1984; Council Projects 1953-1982; Publications and Reports 1951-1984. Later accruals include Board Minutes, Directors/Mangement Committee Meetings, Youth Services Executive papers, and copies of ESPC periodicals.

The collection consists of materials collected by Stan Williams of Edmonton dating from 1880 to 1987. The collection consists of religious magazines and newspapers, souvenir albums, calendars, various church booklets and service programs, clippings from various newspapers relating to Alberta history, biographies and historic travel destinations. it also includes a souvenir copy of the first <i>Edmonton Bulletin</i>, a copy of the last <i>Calgary Albertan</i>, an 1898 <i>Yukon Midnight Sun</i>. and an <i>Edmonton Journal</i> employee's manual ca. 1960.

The material in this fonds covers the terms of office of Mayor Harry Ainlay (1946-1949), Sidney Parsons (1950-1951), William Hawrelak (1952-1959, 1963-1965, and 1974-1975), Elmer Roper (1959-1963), Vincent Dantzer (1965-1968), Ivor Dent (1968-1974), Terry Cavanaugh (1975-1977), and Cecil Purves (1977-1983). Records for Mayors Ainlay, Parsons, and Dantzer are limited, consisting of speeches, invitations, and miscellaneous correspondence. Significant quantities of Mayor's office records from 1969 to 1978 are organized into subject headings representative of the various organizations and challenges facing the city. Edmonton and District Cricket League fonds

The fonds consists of materials created by the Edmonton and District Cricket League and its predecessor, the Edmonton Cricket League between 1945 and 1999. The fonds consists of correspondence, minutes of meetings, personnel records, financial reports, and publicity material relating to cricket in Edmonton, Alberta, and Canada. Although the fonds contains primarily records of the E.D.C.L., many club, team, Alberta Cricket Association, and Canadian Cricket Association records are interspersed throughout. These records have been kept chronologically within the fonds to supplement information about the E.D.C.L.'s activities and to provide a context for its actions. There are a number of gaps in the records for the periods 1960-1975, and 1984-1990. Subsequent accruals have added administrative and financial records between 1992 and 1999. This fonds consists of correspondence; agreements; brochures; administrative materials, photographs, official reports; newspaper clippings; newsletters, financial records and other materials relating to the daily operation of the Parks and Recreation Department. Processed materials have been divided into five series. Wherever possible this division was done with respect to the original order of the fonds. The five series are Administrative records (1945-1972); Facilities and Programs records (1924-1969); Community League records (1946-1967); Cemetery records (1918-1966); and Universiade '83 records (1977-1984).

William Hawrelak fonds

The fonds consists of materials created by William Hawrelak between 1920 and 1976. The bulk of this collection consists of personal correspondence, newspaper clippings (some in Ukrainian), public relations material, legal contracts, and personal artifacts. Fifty photographs, originally found in the collection, have been removed and catalogued separately. The majority of the material in this collection was organized in annually labeled files in chronological order. Wherever possible, the original order of this collection was maintained. However, in some cases files with annual titles (e.g. 1940) were retitled according to content and class titles. It should be noted that while the title for this collection bears William Hawrelak's name, a large portion was produced by, or is related to the entire Hawrelak family. The early history in this collection contains material directly related to William Hawrelak's father, William Hawrelak senior. Mr. Hawrelak's wife, Pearl Porter, was also responsible for a large amount of the material generated in this collection. This fonds has been divided into the following Series or Classes: Class 1: Early Family History records; Class 2: Personal records; Class 3: Political and business records; Class 4: Porter Inquiry records; Class 5: Scrapbooks. In many cases it was not possible to separate personal, political and business records and these subjects may be found in various classes. MS 327.1: This fonds primarily consists of materials in Ukrainian, including folk song books, religious books, map of the Ukraine, and a Medal. This fonds also includes a copy of "Through the Years in the Province of Alberta" (1967).
