Yukon Vocational and Technical Training Centre collection

This collection contains photographic and architectural records of the Yukon Vocational and Technical Training Centre, 1968-1981. Included are a set of 9 architectural drawings for a proposed Roman Catholic Church in Burwash Landing. The plans were prepared by students of the Yukon Vocational and Technical Training Centre in 1968. The building was erected using this design in 1975, however it became the site of the Kluane Museum of Natural History. There are 4 architectural drawings prepared by students at the Centre, 1967-1968, for the Roman Catholic Church in Teslin. The church was built according to these plans in 1970. The photographs show students, course activities and class graduation, 1963-1981. There are also two posters.

Yukon River Basin Committee collection

Collection consists of photographs and textual records. The photographs were removed from the Yukon River Basin Study project report, no. 4: "An Assessment of the Fisheries Resource in 18 Lakes Within the Yukon Territory, Canada", by Aileen Horler, R.A.C. Johnston, G.M.W. Cronkite in 1983. The textual records were collected and prepared by the Energy Work Group of the Yukon River Basin Committee. There are 85 files of photocopied excerpts from energy-related reports. Files 86-88 contain a card file index to the reports, photocopied cross-references to the reports, and a chronology of upper Yukon River studies, 1946-1968.

This collection includes photographs of the eight Superior Court judges of the Yukon Territory since 1898 that were collected in commemoration of the Klondike Gold Rush centennial. The judges portrayed, in order of their appointment, are Horace Thomas McGuire (1897-1898), Calixte Aimee Dugas (1897-1912), James Craig (1900-1912), Charles Daniel Macaulay (1902-1941), John Edward Gibben (1950-1958), John Parker (1958-1968), Harry Charles Bishop Maddison (1969-1999), and Ralph Edward Hudson (1993- ).

The collection consists of a photograph taken, by Wolfe, of a dredge in the Klondike Gold Fields, 1906, and a panorama of Dawson City, Yukon, 1899. The postcards are photographs of Carcross and Kate Carmack, ca. 1918. The collection includes a Whitehorse newspaper "The Daily Evening Star" July 12, 1905 edition.

The pages in this collection are photocopies of several newspapers articles from the Yakima Daily Republic and the Seattle Sunday Times and one small publication. Most of the material is about Belinda A. Mulrooney Carbonneau and her business successes in Dawson City, Yukon during the Klondike Gold Rush. As well her life after the Gold Rush in Yakima, Washington is discussed. Other articles are accounts of Judge James Wickersham, Alaskan delegate to Congress and his visit to Yakima and the part played by Margaret Mulrooney, sister to Belinda, in bringing the Judge to Yakima.

The collection consists of one b&w photograph of Annie Ned, Johnny Fraser and Jim Boss wearing traditional clothing at the Ice Palace in downtown Whitehorse, Yukon. The event may have been the first Yukon Sourdough Rendezvous in 1947. The photograph was taken by the donor's mother, Amy Clethero.

The collection consists of microfiche copies of scrapbooks that include clippings detailing the career of North West Mounted Police (NWMP) Major James Walsh (1843-1905), particularly when Walsh was at Fort Walsh, Saskatchewan and in the Yukon. Walsh joined the NWMP in 1873, was appointed Superintendent of the NWMP and Commissioner of the Yukon in 1897 and retired in 1898.
