This inventory describes the records of the Director's Office and the Traffic Operations Division, It also includes the records generated by the traffic operations function while it was part of the Engineering Department, and the earlier records of the Traffic Engineering Department and the Traffic Division of the Engineering Department. These records document the activities of the divisions of the Department other than Calgary Transit and divisions functionally related to it, For records of Calgary Transit, LRT Construction Division, the Protective Services Division, and the Marketing and Community Relations Division, see the "Inventory to the Records of Calgary Transit". Series I: Consists of the Annual Reports of the Department and its predecessors. Series II: Consists of the correspondence for the Director of the Department, not yet processed. These records date from 1956 to 1969. Series IV: Consists of the correspondence of the Manager of the Traffic Operations Division from 1970 on, not yet processed. Series V: Consists of files on inquests into fatal accidents which occurred on Calgary streets, 1964-1974. Series VI: Consists of files on Calgary's traffic signal installations, originating from the Signals Section of the Traffic Operations Division. Series VII: Contains various reports produced by the staff of the Traffic Engineer, 1956-1966. Series VIII: Consists of photographs used to document traffic operations, ca. 1960-1972.

The fonds consists of records regarding tours of City Hall that Norm McIntyre conducted, includes thank you letters and other correspondence. Photographs, slides and other textual records regarding Norn McIntyre's 25 years of service presentation, retirements parties, and newspaper clippings etc.

The collection consists of one book titled "The Story of Calgary and Tuxedo Park", compiled under the personal supervision of Joseph Ruse, President of the Canadian Estates Company Limited, Toronto, and C.
