Fonds consists of records generated by the Corporation of the City of Peterborough. Series include: original minute books of Town and City Council (1850-1960), minutes and reports of municipal, committees such as: Depression Relief Committee, Peterborough Town Trust, Parks Committee, Titanic Relief Committee, Hunter Street Bridge Committee (1861-1960), legal agreements entered into by the City (1907-1970), bylaw books (1850-1960); blueprints for the Hunter Street Bridge (1918), blueprints and architectural drawing for the Inverlea Bridge (1909), architectural drawing for bandshell in Victoria Park (ca. 1875); minute book (1899-1908), fire log, constitution and bylaws of the Peterborough Fire Brigade (1888-1925); fire log books, reports and other records of the Peterborough Fire Department (1908-1964); scrapbooks, committee minutes, reports, diaries, maps and photographs relating to the Peterborough Parks and Recreation Department (1947-1984); records of the Peterborough Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee, Peterborough Centennial Museum and Archives and other City cultural and heritage organizations; blueprints and architectural drawings generated through the City Planning Department; 200 surveys, subdivision plans and lot plans ; minute books of Peterborough Library Board (1910-1972), Library accession registers (1911-1953); records of the Peterborough Mechanics Institute (1868-1921); some records of the Peterborough Utilities Commission. Wilson Conger fonds

Fonds consists of a framed oil painting on canvas, of Wilson S. Conger, by Canadian artist Paul Kane (1810-1871). The portrait depicts Conger seated with a document in his hand. This painting is an good example of Kane's early work as a portrait artist. Also two daybooks containing accounts for a Cobourg drygoods business owned by Wilson Conger when he lived in Cobourg.

Harris Hotel fonds

Fonds consists of 15 volumes of business ledgers and account books from the Harris Hotel, tavern and general store operated by Alfred Harris and family, Gore's Landing near Rice Lake; includes an account ledger for Rice Lake Indian Reserve (churches, schools, etc), 1889-1898.

Calcutt Brewery fonds

The fonds consists of legal documents, stock certificates, some photographs, military records, genealogical material and ephemera. Specific items include: Brewer's License (1900); receipts and correspondence (Calcutt Brewing letterhead); Calcutt Brewery business ledger; a patent document with original plans on linen, for Henry Calcutt's "Improvements in Steam Boilers" (1895); lease indenture from Arthur Peck to Henry Calcutt relating to Calcutt Brewery property; assorted Calcutt family legal documents including original deed to family home at 73 Robinson, Ashburnham; minutes of the stockholders meeting (1911-33); receipt for a keg of ale for $1.50 (1886); a poem about an accidental spill at Calcutt's when people gathered gallons of beer that was pouring out of a spout; brief histories of some of the steamboats owned by Calcutt; some newspaper clippings.

Dennistoun family fonds

Fonds consists of Dennistoun family papers including: James Frederick Dennistoun's law diplomas from the Law Society of Upper Canada (1859, 1860); an auction catalogue to the sale of contents of Inverlea - the family home of Judge Robert Dennistoun in Peterborough (ca. 1888); assorted personal correspondence; notes relating to the Dennistoun, Beck, Brown and Boulton families, clippings related to a banquet held for Robert M. Dennistoun. Fonds also includes extensive business and legal records generated by Judge Robert Dennistoun, James Frederick Dennistoun and Robert Maxwell Dennistoun, such as deeds, mortgages, wills and estate papers, building specifications, leases, business correspondence).

St John's Anglican Church, Peterborough, fonds

The fonds consists of records documenting construction of St John's Anglican Church, Peterborough (Ont.) along with the early history of this significant local heritage site. Specific items include: original correspondence, accounts, plus receipts and statements from Kingston builder Joseph Scobell and contractors, documenting the construction of St John's Church (1835-1840); correspondence and reports of the Building Committee; documents relating to selection of site for St John's Church (1834); general correspondence relating to affairs of the church, including letter for Bishop Strachan (1830's-1840's); accounts (1835-1840); report of sale of church pews and list of parishoners that purchased pews; poster requesting funds for the church (1839); a concert programme for a Church benefit at Victoria Hall, Peterboro (1863); 2 microfilm reels of St John's Church records which include parish registers, registers of services and financial records; various church related programmes, pamphlets and histories; reproduction of floor plans and presentation drawings of west addition of offices, classrooms to St John's Anglican Church, by Craig and Zeidler, Architects (1965 circa).

Chemong Park Cottagers Association fonds

The fonds consists of an extensive and detailed series of personal correspondence from Alex Butcher to his mother Margaret (Mrs John Butcher) of Burnham Street, Peterborough while Alex was overseas during the First World War (1915-1919); assorted receipts from various Peterborough businesses (1873-1927); newspaper clippings; a series of Butcher family photographs including: John Butcher in marching band, members of the Zaccheus Burnham family, Pratty family, Mr Hallet, Principal of Ashburnham Public School, Amelia Burnham and others; deeds relating to Butcher house at 309 Engleburn Avenue (Absalom Ingram House), Ashburnham; photographs relating to Margaret and John Butcher; photographs of the construction of the Hunter Street bridge which includes a view into Ashburnham taken from atop Quaker Oats and clearly showing several landmarks including the Calcutt Brewery, Mattress December, 1920); personal correspondence of Absalom Ingram and a number of items relating to St Luke's Church; legal documents relating to the sale of the Butcher house at 309 Engleburn Avenue (northwest corner, near Sophia and Burnham Streets, Ashburnham) from Rev Mark Burnham to Absalom Ingram, then to John Butcher and Margaret Butcher (daughter of Absalom Ingram; assorted accounts and receipts relating to the affairs of John Butcher including an account ledger of Absalom Ingram (1879-1896); hand-lettered and hand-painted illuminated certificate presented to John Butcher on his retirement as caretaker of St John's Anglican Church, Peterborough; a small framed photograph of John Butcher, standing beside the cast iron bell taken from the tower of St John's Anglican Church when new chimes were installed.
