Norton family fonds : [1822; 1832-1857; ca. 1972]

The fonds consists of a genealogy of the Norton family by Jessie Rosina Norton Beck entitled "Of These Stones: The MacNaughton-Nortons," Frederick P. Norton's journal from his tour of England, Scotland and Ireland in 1843-1844 as well as the register for the Baptist Church at Three Rivers, now Montague Church of Christ, 1832-1926, which the Nortons attended. There are also several letters to Frederick P. Norton from John MacDonald, his sister Jane N. Moar and his brother John Norton. One of the latter letters describes the dissolution of the "California Association" the company which built and sailed the "Fanny" to San Francisco in 1849. There is also one letter from Robert Austin to John Norton and some invoices from Mark Butcher.

The fonds consists of the second minute book of the Prince Edward Island Christian Association covering the years 1869-1925. In addition to the minutes of the regular meetings, it also includes reports from the churches that belonged to the Christian Association. The fonds also contains a few pamphlets and newsletters from the national association, the Canadian Churches of Christ.

McLellan family fonds : [1817-1949 ; predominately 1817-1910]

The fonds consists of an account book that originally belonged to Alexander McLellan (1786-1867). The account book spans the years 1817 to 1949, but the majority of the records are between 1817 and 1910. The book contains the family's accounts for their farm in Indian River but also contains marriages in Indian River (1858-1910), a history of the early settlers of Indian River, a farm daybook (1873-1899; 1905-1909), genealogical information about the McLellan family and family correspondence. The fonds also includes a typed essay entitled "Early Settlers of Indian River" which seems to be a transcription of an item that appeared in the "Summerside Journal," 9 March 1898.

Lucy Maud Montgomery photographic fonds : [1921]

The fonds consists of eight photographs, seven of which appear to have been taken by Lucy Maud Montgomery in 1921. Most of the photographs are of places in Cavendish and Park Corner, Prince Edward Island where Lucy Maud lived or visited as a child. There is also one photograph of Lucy Maud.

Palmer family fonds

The fonds consists of the following four series of textual material, primarily professional correspondence and documents, and one photograph: Series 1 - James Bardin Palmer papers, Series 2 - Edward Palmer papers; Series 3 - Harold Palmer papers, and Series 4 - Palmer genealogy and miscellaneous papers.

Singleton W. Muncey fonds

The fonds consists primarily of letters written by Singleton W. Muncey to his parents, T. C. and Harriet Muncey, and his brother Frank between 8 January 1900 and 26 November 1901. In the letters, Singleton describes his travels and activities as well as the conditions and battles in the South African Boer War. There are also letters from J. S. Creighton and Major William Congold to T. C. Muncey regarding Singleton. The fonds also contains Singleton's certificates of discharge, newspaper clippings and a pamphlet regarding a reunion of South African soldiers in 1902, and an article about W. R. Collins, the man who shot and wounded Singleton during the Boer War.

Peake, Brecken fonds

This fonds consists primarily of the business records and associated materials of the Brecken and Peake families of Prince Edward Island. The documents cover the time period 1784 to 1870 although most of the material dates from 1840 on. The Peake business began in 1824 and after 1830 seems to have been connected to the Brecken firm. Some records in the early 1830's may belong to either firm. Also included are some papers of a personal nature. The material has been partially sorted and boxed and is divided into two series: Brecken papers and Peake papers.

The fonds consists of microfilm containing the portion of Lloyd's survey reports that relates to vessels surveyed in Prince Edward Island from 1856 to 1899. They are arranged in a single sequence by survey number assigned in the order received. This results in a rough chronological sequence. A survey for a particular vessel should be located in the year in which it was built or launched. Information given on the survey includes place and date the vessel was built and launched, names of owner, master and builder, tonnage, details of construction and quantities and types of materials used. The surveyor also gives a written assessment of the general condition of the vessel, including any abnormalities, and recommends a classification. Correspondence between the surveyor and the head office may also be included.

Theophilus Chappell fonds

The fonds consist of one day book belonging to Theophilus Chappell, which records daily and monthly information concerning his employment from 1799-1823. During this time, the day book indicates that Theophilus Chappell lived in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, but traveled to Murray Harbour to work for John Cambridge, who owned a large fishery, sawmill, and shipyard. Entries include his work undertaken on barracks, mills, and churches. Also documented is the "Amount of sale bought from John Cambridge" for individuals, consisting of both grocery items and construction materials.
