The fonds consists of six original letters written by Thomas Douglas to Reverend Angus McAulay, the Earl of Selkirk's representative in Prince Edward Island, in 1803. The first letter, dated in March of that year, was addressed from Dumfries, Scotland, and the letters that follow were written from Charlottetown. All of the correspondence concerns the settlement of the Belfast area. Also included in the fonds are photocopies and typed transcripts of the letters, as well as a print of a Jackdaw portrait of Lord Selkirk, taken from an unidentified published document, [before 1970].

The collection contains images of the Lieutenant-Governors (1769-1985) and Premiers (1851-1978) of Prince Edward Island. It appears that the photographs may have been collected and copied as part of an exhibit of the Lieutenant-Governors and Premiers of PEI.

This fonds consists of 55 photographs copied from Ralph D. Stewart's photo collection. The majority of these images capture the Charlottetown area and the Stewart family. These photos are said to have been taken by Ralph D. Stewart and his father Frank Stewart.

The fonds consists of 239 images taken or collected by Jack Turner. Images include rural scenes of Prince Edward Island, particularly the O'Leary area, and include farming scenes, trains, harvest excursion trains, fox farming, social events, images of the Turner home and general store and Turner family members. Approximately 99 photographs were taken during Turner's service with the Second Canadian Siege Battery (1915-1919) and capture images of the front lines, as well as daily life of the soldiers, and the after-effects of the war. Approximately 7 images are official war photographs not taken by Jack Turner. The fonds also includes images by Turner dating from 1958 to 1975 of a plowing match, veteran's parade in Charlottetown, a blacksmith at work, some scenic views, and Turner's granddaughter, Leah.

The fonds consists of a transcribed letter written by Robert Shuttleworth to his longtime friend Joseph Banks dated 8 October 1793. In the letter, Robert describes the flora and fauna of Prince Edward Island.

The collection consists of records relating to the Simpson and MacNeill families of Cavendish, Prince Edward Island from 1826 to 1923. The records are organized into five series:

This collection consists of assorted materials including eight photographs of identified ships built at Cardigan as well as the steam ships "Enterprise" and "Harland" and an account book dated 1868-1888 for the ships "Willie", "Gulnare", "Altair" and "Lucy Pope". There is also an account book of an unidentified store in Kings County for the years 1853-1861 and a book listing stock and inventory for the years 1898 and 1899 that may be from the same unidentified store. The collection also contains some notes and accounts regarding the S. S. "Coila" in account with D. Farquharson, an auction sale of the estate of a Mr. Burke, and a letter written by Peter Macgowan to Michael Bourke 24 August 1853 regarding a land deed.

The fonds consists of several letterbooks, daybooks, a receipt book and farm account for the Myrick family's Tignish businesses spanning the years 1862-1939. The letterbooks and farm account book include indexes.

The fonds consists of eight letters written by William Black Wellner to George W. Howlan between 1853 and 1856. The letters are of a personal nature in which William discusses people, politics and events in Charlottetown.
