Fonds consists of photographs taken in the aftermath of the Halifax Explosion of 1917. Includes scenes of the devastation; group photos of American relief workers, among them probably members of the visiting Harvard University medical team; also images of survivors and the visit to the city by Prime Minister Robert L. Borden. While the fonds consists mainly of professional-quality photographs by International Film Services, Boston, Massachusetts, it also includes several amateur snapshots.

Fonds consists of silent film footage by Harold Wier. Includes four 8 mm films in black and white and fourteen 16mm films in a mixture of black and white and colour. Although an amateur, Weir had an appreciation for the art and craft of cinematography. Some material has been edited and titled by Weir, as in the footage he shot during a trip around the Cabot trail in 1938. Most of the material consists of footage of his family and of his travels around Nova Scotia.

Fonds consists of films of Gorsebrook Golf Club in the 1930s, various golf tournaments, Hubbards, Cape Breton, a 1939 exhibition and Halifax showing the results of VE Day. They generally reflect events and activities in Babcock's daily life. Also included is a Robert Jones instructional golf film ca. 1930s, which is one in a series produced by Jones. The film demonstrates the appropriate method of using the various clubs (ie. swing, stance, etc).

Fonds consists of recordings in which Fred Redden is singing his repertoire of folk songs with commentary or conversation between songs supplied by Jamie Moreira and Kathryn Belzer who were taping the collection. Also includes documentation from festivals where he performed, establishment and governance of the Fred Redden Society Society for Traditional Music which was founded after his death, and documents relating to the creation of a tribute recording in his memory.

Fonds consists of materials generated and accumulated by Brian Cuthbertson during his research work, including correspondence, notes, reports, and copies of documents relating to Bishop Charles Inglis and his contemporaries. Also contains family papers (history and genealogy) relating to the Uniacke, Fawson and Odevaine families. Also included are files from contract work including the Nova Scotia-Newfoundland boundary dispute, the Crown Share Adjustment Panel, and the Campaign for Fairness relating to Canada-Nova Scotia 1986 Accord and Legislation. There are also research reports on the Home for Coloured Children and many reports prepared for Canada Post including: the Canso Causeway; the Silver Dart; William Hall, VC; Carrie Best, OC; the 100th anniversary of the first trans-Atlantic radio transmission by Guglielmo Marconi; Samuel Cunard and the delivery of trans-Atlantic mail; the Battle of the Plains of Abraham; William James Roue; Tall Ships 2000; and the Cabot Trail, among others. There are also files relating to his publications including: Johnny Bluenose at the polls: epic Nova Scotia election battles, 1758-1848; Lunenburg: then and now; Wolfville and Grand Pre: past and present; and Melville Prison and Deadman's Island: American and French Prisoners of War in Halifax, 1794-1816.

Fonds consists of predominantly of scrapbooks created or compiled by Marie Bishop. The scrapbooks contain obituaries from the Halifax Herald organized in rough alphabetical order, with entries from across Nova Scotia. There are also stories and reminiscences about the Bishop family on the sound recording.

Fonds consists of correspondence, calculations, deeds and sale agreements, subject files and related documentation compiled by Mr. Alexander relating to his work as a forester and surveyor. The contents of the fonds include documents referring to the following Nova Scotian businesses: MacLeod Paper and Power Company Ltd., Rossignol Lands Ltd., Mersey Paper Company Ltd., Annapolis Lumber Company Ltd., A.D. Mills & Sons Ltd., Lunenburg Wood Products Ltd., and Minas Basin Pulp and Power Corp. Ltd. The contents provide stumpage and 'cruising' details, timber estimate sheets, volume of wood cut, maps and inventories. There are also unattributed original and copy photographs collected by Alexander, which document the Town of Hantsport and environs, as well as photographs he took himself.
