Langley Centennial Museum fonds

The fonds consists of documents from the Langley Centennial Museum's formation, including Rules and Regulations, guides for accepting items in the Museum (1967), correspondence (1958-1976), Financial statements (1967), attendance records (1958-1968), details of School Educational Programmes, a list of attendees at the opening of the Art Gallery (1974), a book of donations of sound recordings (1975), indexes for the holdings of both the Langley Centennial Museum Archives and the Archives at Langley Municipal Hall in Murrayville, B.C. [1975], and a list of names on the 1924 Sharon United Church Quilt [1975].

Township of Langley incorporation collection : 1872

The collection consists of copies of the original signatures of the 29 petitioners who requested the incorporation of the Langley and Derby district into a municipality on March 23, 1872, and typed lists of the petitioners' names [1973].

Township of Langley municipal taxation collection

The collection consists primarily of correspondence to John Walter Berry (1868-1943), Municipal Clerk, requesting tax assessments for lots of land in the Township of Langley, B.C. (1905-1906). Collection also includes examples of official tax assessment forms (1907), court cases appealing tax assessments (1906), and assessment rolls from 1896 and 1902.

Langholm fonds

Fonds consists of administrative records, 1943-1969, such as correspondence, financial records, and a floor plan. There are records created in 1968 and 1969 relating to the sale of Langholm. There is also a special report by Frederick Field and Co. created in 1949 that addressed the management of patients assets, a financial ledger from 1949-1968, and patient logs, which contain personal information, from 1943-1947, 1947-1951, 1951-1956, and 1957-1968. Included in the fonds are records from the Langholm Womens Auxiliary which include a 1960-1968 ledger book, and minute books from 1950-1954, 1954-1958, and 1959-1969. Additionally, there are minutes from the Langholm Committee from 1945-1949.

Langley School District fonds

The fonds consists of minutes and accounts books (1886-1906, 1907-1915), minute books (1934-1955), and accounts book (1928-1934) of the Langley School District. Fonds also includes the guest book (1911-1957) of the Fort Langley Elementary School, 2 brief histories of the Langley School District, and a list of Proposals for Langley Centennial Year submitted by the Teachers and Students of Langley Schools [1973], as well as a 1913 lease agreement between Roderick Cummings and the Langley School District Board of Trustees for land for a pumphouse (opposite Sharon United Church on 48th Avenue and Old Yale Road).

B.C. Provincial Police fonds

The fonds consists of a 2-page manuscript "A Brief History of the B.C. Provincial Police", a daily journal (1899-1907) for an unidentified detachment of the British Columbia Provincial Police compiled by Otway Wilkie and describing police activities in the Fraser Valley, a journal (1937) compiled by Constable S.M. Millar of the Barkerville Detachment describing police activities in the Barkerville and Wells area, and a daily journal (1906-1911) of the New Westminster office, blank BCPP stationery, 2 copies of the BCPP Regulations (1924, 1937), and 2 issues of the "Shoulder Strap", the BCPP journal. Fonds also consists of detailed records of the BCPP's Langley, B.C. Police Department, primarily compiled by Police Chiefs Robert Macklin and C.Y. Robertson, including ledgers containing records of cases and dispositions (1924-1927, 1934, 1939-1942), Provincial Police Court records (1912, 1924-1925, 1942-1954), semi-annual reports to the Langley Board of Police Commissioners (1925, 1937-1939), minutes of the Langley Board of Police Commissioners (1912-1938), a 1935 citation for a medal awarded to R. Macklin by His Majesty the King, and a 1932 petition to the Police Commissioners of the Municipality of Langley requesting reconsideration in the matter of the Police Chief.

Township of Langley British Columbia Centennial collection

The collection consists of a Calendar of Events for British Columbia's Centennial Year Celebrations, including a list of events taking place in Langley Municipality, B.C., 2 commercial invitations to attend "British Columbia's 100th Birthday Party", signed by the Lieutenant Governor and Premier of B.C., and notes from a speech made by Mr. A.C. Hope, Chairman of the Langley Centennial Committee, on Sunday, April 27th, 1958, the "Centennial Day of Prayer". Collection also includes 3 promotional postcards outlining the history of Fort Langley, each in their original commemorative envelopes post-marked at Fort Langley, B.C., May 8th, 1958.
