The collection consists of letters and postcards (1940-1951) written by Levertov to Charles Wrey Gardiner (editor of Poetry Quarterly); letters, drafts of poems and a postcard (1946-1947) to John Hayward; and drawings not used for "A Tree Telling of Orpheus", 1967. The collection consists of: 1) Four vellum leaves by various calligraphers taken from a Flemish Psalter, two French Book of Hours, and a French Bible. 2) Ten manuscript leaves by various calligraphers in France, England, Italy, and Spain, including leaves from a Bible, a calendar, Missals, a Book of Hours, a charter, a litany from a Book of Hours, a Psalter, and a Breviary. 3) MS of John Lydgate's "Fall of Princes" (ca. 1431-1438). 247 slides were made for a digitizing project, from which 10 CDs have been produced plus a backup set. There is also a CD for the index to the web site. 4) MS of "Bartholomaeus Anglicus" (ca, 1240-1250), consisting of extracts from his encyclopaedia "De Proprietatibus Rerum (On the Properties of Things). 5) Medieval Fragments: 13th Century Collection (ca. 1200-1300), consists of 7 folia fragments from 5 sources most were recovered pastedowns from later books. 6) Manuscrit religeuse. 7) Court record from the beginning of the reign of James I. It passed through private hands. The document is in Latin court hand and notes the transfer of land from Thomas and Robert Whitney to a knight. 8) Handwritten letter to William Paston from Thomas Jermy dated 31 January 1565. The letter has been repaired, with a slight loss of text. Also included are a photocopy of the letter; a typed transcription of the letter, made in 1974 by H.L. Douch (Curator of the Royal Cornwall Institution) and amended at the suggestion of Jean M. Kennedy (City and County Archivist, Norwich), together with comments by Kennedy and Dorothy Sweet; a handwritten transcription of the original, by Douch; handwritten notes and background material by Sweet; two typed, signed letters to Sweet from Kennedy.

The fonds consists of personal correspondence (1942-1945), photographs, and news clippings relating to nursing during World War II. Fonds includes Fletcher's reminiscences (1994) about her World War II experiences.

The collection consists of photographic glass-plate transparencies depicting life in Japan, including scenery, street scenes, workers, farming, fishing, silk production, stone carvers, wood carvers, metal workers, potters, and artists. These "Yokohama photographs" were sold to foreign tourists between about 1868 and 1912, before cameras and postcards were generally available. They have been described in: Meiji no Nihon: Yokomana shashin no sekai: Saishoku arubamu. Yokohama-shi Yurindo, 1990. (Meiji Japan in tinted album: the world of Yokohama photographs -- includes bibliographical references).

Fearon (1937), 3 pp re evidence given by Fearon in Henry Morris Sinclair's libel suit against Gogarty; 1 hls, 1 p to the President of the Irish Free State (11.09.38); 1 tls with h. additions, 3 pp to J.M.N. Jeffries (16.05.1933); 1 p h. with an 8 line comic verse about Hitler signed and dated 13.01.44; 1 tls., 1 p to "Seamus" (13.09.49); 1 tls. 2 pp to Mr. Smart (21.04.52). Also included is a holograph verse 6 pp. "To his Extraordinary Friend George Kennedy Allen Bell about to go to Switzerland," no date, on stationary headed "The Tower, Sandycove".

The fonds consists of letters from Percy ("Jack") Gooch to his parents in England, sent from his postings in England, the Crimea and India, regarding army life and the Crimean War. The fonds includes correspondence of Mrs. Edith Stephenson and other family members regarding personal and business matters.

The fonds consists of records documenting the administrative and operational activities of Gray's Publishing Ltd., including financial records, files relating to promotion and advertising, drafts of books published by Gray's and books initially accepted but never published; book lists and correspondence of the B.C. Department of Education; correspondence with authors, book and magazine publisher, lawyers and accountants; book publishing surveys conducted by Statistics Canada; guest books signed by attendees at publishing conferences; and material relating to bankruptcy including past due accounts and lists of creditors. There is correspondence and are manuscripts from about 70 authors. These include Lewis Clark, George Clutesi, Sister Mary Margaret Down, Godfrey Halloway, S.W. Jackman, Lawrence Jackson, Charles Lillard, Harry Marriott, Hazel O'Neail, Thead Pearse, Sarian Stump and Allen Wright.
