The collection consists of papers and photographs gathered by Gary Carroll. The collection includes correspondence relating to his research on Governor Walter Patterson, information regarding the 1965 Federal-Provincial Youth Travel Program to Manitoba, papers and images belonging to his father, Linus J. Carroll, an account book for Hemphill and Carroll furniture upholstering and refinishing (1945-1948), financial statements for Archer and MacDonald Limited (1967), and images of various buildings, individuals, and groups. Many of the images have been identified and dated by the donor.

Transcripts of war letters of Gordon Lawrence MacLaren : [1917-1919]

This collection consists of one CD-ROM which contains transcripts of letters written by Gordon Lawrence MacLaren of New Perth, Prince Edward Island to his parents during World War I. The CD-ROM also includes a copy of a photograph of Mr. MacLaren (ca. 1917-1918). Interspersed among the letters are photographs and summaries of relevant war-related topics which flesh out the background to the letters. These photographs and summaries are from unknown sources, unless marked. The transcriber adds remarks to clarify issues that would have been visible in the original records, such as missing pages, illegible words, etc. Gordon MacLaren's letters offer descriptions of landscapes and daily routines, as well as opinions on the war, politics and education. Also included in the collection are a few letters from MacLaren to other recipients, a few letters to or about MacLaren and one letter from King George in recognition of his "faithful services" rendered to the "Mother Country".

The fonds contains Keith Branigan's book "From Clan to Clearance: History and Archaeology on the Isle of Barra, c. 850-1850 AD". The work is the result of over fifteen years of historical and archaeological research into the history of Barra, Scotland, and its people. The author draws upon field surveys, excavations, and documentary research from the United Kingdom and Canada. A catalogue of named emigrants from the Isle of Barra to British North America (1772-1851) also appears at the end of the volume. The fonds also includes a computer disk containing the emigrant catalogue in Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF) and in Microsoft Excel and OpenOffice spreadsheets.

The photograph shows King George VI and Queen Elizabeth outside of Province House in Charlottetown during their visit to Prince Edward Island on 14 June 1939. The King and Queen can be seen shaking hands with a group of war veterans. The man shaking the Queen's hand in the photograph is Nicholas Murphy. In 1939 King George VI of England and his wife Queen Elizabeth made a month-long tour of Canada. They set sail for Canada on 6 May and travelled for nine days across the Atlantic Ocean. The King and Queen's first stop in Canada was Quebec City. On 14 June 1939, near the end of their tour, the royal couple visited Charlottetown, PEI.

This work provides a history of the Latin American Mission Program (LAMP) which was established by the Diocese of Charlottetown in Prince Edward Island in 1968. The publication also includes personal reminiscences and stories of 19 Islanders who traveled to the Caribbean and Central America as missionaries with LAMP.

The collection consists of two images (three photographs). The first is of the Johnston/McFarlane home and warehouse in Annandale ca. 1860s copied from an ambrotype. The second image is that of a ship under construction at the Annandale wharf ca. 1860s copied from a tintype. There are two photographs of this image, including one in which the image is reversed.

The collection contains a transcription of deaths from the diaries of Lauretta (Machon) Brooks. The alphabetical list, spanning the years 1918-1962, includes the name of the individual and their age, date, and place of death. Some entries also include additional notes made by Lauretta. The transcript was created by Anne (Nosworthy) Brooks in 2002.

This collection contains two church histories of the Fairview United Baptist Church on the Rustico Road, North Milton, Prince Edward Island (1878-2000 and 1878-2008) along with a church bulletin from the final decommissioning service held on 23 November 2008. The 1878-2000 history was written by Lottie (Mrs. Paige) Nunn and Helen (Mrs. Athol) Craswell. The additional information added to the 2008 history was written by Jean (Mrs. Sheldon) Neill.
