Also included are the estate records of individuals for whom Bate served as executor including Maria Snow (Robinson), E. Pimbury, J. Webb, and T.E. Peck. The fonds consists of one series, consisting of a valuation (appraisal) report (1964) on the construction and equipment of schools in School District No. 68, along with inventories of equipment for the following schools: Departure Bay School (1959-1966), Harewood Elementary School (1959-1966), Seaview School (1959-1966), Quennell School (1959-1967), Quennell School Annex (1959-1964), Quennell School Gymnasium (1959-1964), Princess Royal School (1959-1963), Mount Benson School (1959-1966), and Woodlands Junior Secondary School (1972-1980).

Fonds consists of correspondence, notes, financial statements and reports related to the various improvement districts and the restructure of the City.

Fonds consists of minutes of the Nanaimo Board of Health. The minutes were typically recorded in this volume but occasionally they were recorded in the City Council Minutes. The annual reports (1895-1897) stipulated in the Act were subsequently published in the Sessional Papers. Other minutes within this volume include the minutes of: the Board of Revision (1949-1969), the Market Committee (1945), the Board of Appeal (1949-1957), the Waterworks Committee (1955), Public Hearings (1955-1956) and the Zoning Board of Appeal (1957-1967).

The fonds consists of the Nanaimo Cemetery plot book and minutes of meetings of the Cemetery Trustees.

The fonds consists of correspondence, examination record, mine rescue team lists and annual reports, annual reports (1914-1936) to the Chief Inspector of mines, correspondence (1922-1951) consisting of reports from and letters to the Vancouver Mine Safety Association, the Inspector of Mines and the Mine Rescue Station in Nanaimo, examination questions for third class candidates (1934-1936), the examination record (1915-1934, 1936-1951) listing the activities and dates of each student and number of laps made, pulse and condition of trainee, and mine rescue team lists which document note date, team number, mine number, and names of miners.

The fonds consists of a register of vessels of the Nanaimo Pilotage Authority at Port of Nanaimo (1900-1906) listing date, name of vessel and master, point of departure, tonnage, and number of crew.
