This fonds includes correspondence (mostly of the New Brunswick Society for the Encouragement of Agriculture, Home Manufactures and Commerce), 1850-1854, 1858, 1868, 1871, 1882-1900, and later with the Director of Agricultural Societies, 1961, 1969-1971; Schedules of Awards (and prize lists for fairs and exhibitions), lists of subscribers, Annual Returns, receipts for purchases and work performed for the individual Societies; 1874-1875 etc. and for the provincial Society (including Matthew Stead's receipts for work on the Exhibition buildings (1850s), (Printed) Minutes of the New Brunswick Society for the Encouragement of Agriculture, Home Manufactures and Commerce, 1850-1854 and handbills from various agricultural societies.

For the most part, this fonds consists of individual documents, but does include minute books for the following Agricultural Societies: Blackville and Derby, 1889-1944; Black River, 1953-1992; Gloucester County, 1848-1852; Loggieville, 1936-1945; Northumberland County, 1960-1970; Salmon Beach, 1919-1982; St. Hilaire, 1875-1976; and York County, 1841-1863.

Lastly, it includes one ledger of the New Brunswick Agricultural Societies United, 1955-1973.

This fonds consists of the administrative records of the society. It includes minute books, 1841-1981, accounting records, membership lists, 1959-1971, reports and programs, 1844-1932. There is also some correspondence between Clyde Macdougall, Sussex Agricultural Representative, and A. F. Colwell, Cumberland Bay, 1939-1947.

Also included is a book by Marianus Cuming's son concerning Cuming family experiences in Scotland, New Brunswick, and Australia.

The photographs ([ca. 1966]-1980) show William Alexander, his wife Emilie Dannhauer, and their families, the Alexander children in Strathcona, Rycroft, and Grande Prairie, various boats on the Peace River, the Fort Fitzgerald wood camp, the Art Alexander family in Hudson's Hope, the O'Brien girls, Maggie and Emil Baron and their children, Ed and Bill Alexander in their army uniforms, and the Alexander gravesite and O'Brien Park.

The records were arranged in a series of binders and albums, as assembled by Jean Pearce. They have been selected and rearranged by the Archivist into chronological order. The photographs have been left in the order they were given by Jean; not every photograph in the albums was copied.
