This fonds consists of a single item -- a minute book containing minutes of meetings of the St. Marys Water and Fire Department and of its successor, the Devon Fire Department. The bye-laws of St. Marys Water and Fire Department are included with the minutes.

Item is a letter written to Miss Anne DeWolf RN, the Director of Nursing at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, from John C. MacKenzie, MD. He requested an application form for Pauline Alward to attend a course at John Hopkins, as the Moncton Hospital at that time was without an administrator or a director of nurses. In the top left corner, Mr. MacKenzie has written, “Miss Alward – For your information. Best of luck, John C. Mackenzie”.

Item is a receipt for $100.00 in tuition fees paid for a 16 week course in Operative Aseptic Technique at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Item is a copy of the Argosy Weekly from November 1952. On the cover is an article about Pauline entitled, “U.G.R. Nurse Leaves”, which discussed her acceptance of the position of Evening Supervisor at South Oaks, The Long Island Home, Amityville, Long Island, New York.

Item is a certificate issued to Pauline Alward by the University of the State of New York Education Department, licensing her to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York.

Items are two certificates of appreciation awarded to Pauline (Alward) Spatz on the 50th Anniversary of the Sackville Memorial Hospital. One certificate is signed by Frank McKenna, Premier of the Province of New Brunswick, and the other is signed by Dr. Marilyn Trenholme who was then the provincial Minister of the State for Family.

Limited of Montréal. It also includes printed copies of letters testifying to the efficacy of these remedies and a very few financial statements of the Father Morriscy Medicine Co. Limited.
