Housiaux family fonds

Consists of photographs and papers of the Housiaux family, dating mainly from the 1920s to the 1930s. The photographs in the fonds are of both amateur and professional quality, and document images of the family, friends, scenes of Coronation and Edmonton, and newspapermen's convention (5 cirkuit photos). The professional photographs in the collection were taken by companies such as: Standard Flash Light Co., New York; G. W. Latta, Toronto; Stuart Thomson, Vancouver; Dillhoff Studio, New York; Meyers, Winnipeg; Castor Studio, Edmonton; and by Carl Nettekoven of Coronation. Of note is a very unusual "Movie-of-U" optical illusion photograph of Joseph Housiaux, [192-], likely taken in New York. Also included is a notable double exposure photograph of Vera Housiaux by Coronation photographer Carl Nettekoven. Also included in the fonds are school notebooks, drawings and watercolours by Vera Housiaux, autograph books, Red Cross certificates and first aid booklets, greeting cards and a copy of the local history book for Coronation.
