Charlie Gathercole Map Collection

The fonds consists of 30 survey blueprints and town plans of Benville, Sexsmith, Laglace, Valhalla, and Buffalo Lakes; one 1928 Department of the Interior and four 1917-1922 Surveyor General maps of the Peace River District; one Prairie Farm Assistance Act map from 1955; and three blueprints of houses from the 1950s, one of them produced by the Veterans Land Act department. Maps are stamped with C.R. Gathercole, Real Estate & Insurance, Sexsmith, Alberta.

The fonds consists of a reel of 16 mm silent film taken in the Eaglesham area and on the Lassiter Project in the 1950s; an Election Proclamation Poster for the 1930 Alberta Election, an enumeration booklet for the 1930 election of Subdivisions 50 and 97 of the Constituency of Grande Prairie; a Canada Elections Act List of Electors poster; some letters from Eaglesham settlers written to Anne for the Eaglesham Reunion in 1980; and two booklets written by Anne Donalson: As We Remember the Early Days on the North Eaglesham Project, written in 1976; and Homestead Memories, written in 1985.

The fonds consists of Howard McPherson's hand drawn maps of Belloy (1949-1952, Silverwood (1956-1958) and Prestville (1956-1958) and eight photographs of buildings including Belloy School and students.

Mack Prentiss collection

The collection consists of a computer disc containing 86 images of the Prentiss and Sheer family, their farm on the shore of Bear Lake, Mack's activities as a child on the farm, workers and farm activities throughout the seasons, and a few scenes of Grande Prairie, as well as 7 photographs relating to the personal life of the Prentiss Family. The Bezanson portion of the collection consists of 66 photographs and 12 postcards and covers Bezanson's first trip into the Peace County in 1906, their homestead on the Smoky River from 1908-1913, his 1913 trip over the Edson Trail in a 1912 Cadillac with an Edmonton Realtor named Davidson, and a collection of Peace Country scenes dating from 1910 to 1930. There is also a Grande Prairie High School newsletter from 1935, a promotional picture of the Dunvegan Bridge, miscellaneous correspondence of the Prentiss family, and a collection of newspaper clippings about the family.

South Peace War Brides collection

The fonds consists of autobiographical stories from 18 World War II brides who came to the Peace Country after meeting their Canadian husbands in Britain and Europe during the War. The women interviewed were Grace Thomson, Violet Dryer, Margaret Weaver, Wilhelmina Johnston, Aleyda Campbell, Margaret Krzyczkowski, Gretha Gerow, Jean Conrad Drysdale, Margaret LeCerf, Marjorie Pettit, Audrey Cook, Betty Eskdale, Grace Nellis, Hilary Lightfoot, Daphne Derocher, Mary Tangen, Cathy Golding and Sheila Peterson.

South Peace War Brides

South Wapiti collection

The fonds consists of 13 photographs of the farmers and settlers who lived in or frequented the South Wapiti area, including Olaf Berg, the Ted Day family, Osbornes, McCulloughs and Ryans. There is also a photo of "The Bee Man" from the Beaverlodge Research Station giving a demonstration on bee keeping for the South Wapiti Community.

Valleyview & District Chamber of Commerce Millenium Photograph Collection

The fonds consists of a binder containing scanned copies of photographs, articles and maps with photographs; a CD containing digital images of 500 photographs used in the "Journey to the Millenium" display chronicalling the growth of the Valleyview and Sturgeon Lake area; and a CD containing digital images of a 1910 Fur Trade Ledger from the Revillon Freres Trading Post at Sturgeon Lake operated by the Williamson family.
