Dunham and McDougall family

This collection documents the business and personal activities of members of the Dunham and McDougall families, particularly David E. Dunham. It includes Samuel Dunham's book of timber surveys (1846-1849) in the parish of Hampstead and shoemaker Jonathan McDougall's cash book (1850-1853) and ledger (1851-1859) reflecting the trade conducted in his shops at Port Hope and Wickham.

There are also architect David E. Dunham's account books, order books, and cash accounts (1872-1883); an office diary kept by one of his draftsmen, possibly Arthur Anderson; advertisements for Dunham's firm, giving qualifications and a partial list of buildings designed by him; several architectural plans for and photographs of his buildings; and accounts for private buildings.

Lastly, the fonds contains 7 school exercise or copybooks (1844-1861) belonging to David Elson Dunham, Mary Ann McDougall, James Norman McDougall, or Jessie McDougall; a story by Mary Ann McDougall (1860); family photographs of the Dunhams and McDougalls; family history notes compiled by Mrs. J. S. Vanderploeg; and a typed transcript of a letter from schoolmaster John C. Thompson of Stanley to Jonathan McDougall of Gagetown (1838).

Culbertson Tract Land Claim collection

This collection comprises documents received in response to an Access to Information request addressed to Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) by the Corporation of the Town of Deseronto, Ontario, in 2008. The request asked for copies of documentation submitted as part of the Culbertson Tract land claim of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte and upon which the decision to allow the claim had been based.

The documents in this collection are all photocopies of materials located in public archives in Canada. The materials range in date from 1779 to 1959 and record the interactions between the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte and the British and Canadian governments, in relation to lands, from the time of their departure from the Mohawk Valley to the mid-twentieth century.

Southern Alberta Irrigation and Agriculture collection

The collection consists of numerous pamphlets relating to irrigation and other agriculture primarily in southern Alberta, but also Saskatchewan and Manitoba. This fonds consists of two series;Early agriculture and irrigation. -- 90 cm textual records. -- 1910-1963;Series consists of various pamphlets and published reports, primarily produced by the Department of the Interior Government of Canada, Canada Department of Agriculture, and Province of Alberta regarding agricultural production and irrigation. Oldman River Basin. -- 45cm textual records. -- 1978-1979. In 1978, the Oldman River Study Mangement Committee directed numerous studies and held public consultations regarding the Oldman River Basin, and possible damming. A dam was completed in 1992. This series consists of many of the reports, and transcripts compiled in 1978.

Series consists of administrative records and research materials copied and collected for researching various articles, book reviews, and reports regarding late ninteenth and early twentieth century Canadian Plains history.
