The fonds consists of historical information, briefs, plans, proposals, reports, submissions, copies of legal papers and maps relating to the preservation and development of Nose Hil Park. The fonds also consists of executive papers including minutes, membership lists, financial statement, newsletters, newspaper clippings, scrapbooks, and photographs relating to the Nose Hill Park Communities Board and various other groups with an interest in Nose Hill, including the Nose Hill Park Management Advisory Committee and the Friends of Nose Hill Society.

The fonds consists of records created or collected by Dr. Thompson over the course of his career. The records also reflect his teaching and scholarly activities both nationally and internationally.

Fonds consists of business and personal correspondence, research material, book manuscripts (most published between 1975 and 1990), appointment diaries, photographs and speeches. Also includes articles on G. MacEwan, book reviews, material honouring G. MacEwan and other miscellaneous material. Accession 891/12.8 includes various media that relate to the personal life of G. MacEwan: 2 photograph albums of 'Pioneer Agricultural Scenes' and 'Canadian Livestock'; 3 diaries kept by G. MacEwan, 1902-1931, 1931-1950, 1958-1966; 3 scrapbooks and 3 files containing research, notes and clippings relating to various issues of interest to MacEwan; the diary of Phyllis Cline, 1932-1953.

There is also a booklet prepared by the South Peace Regional Planning Commission in June 1992 which contains the development proposal for the park.

Waterton Centennial Oral History Project collection

The collection consists of recorded interviews and interview summaries with pioneers of Waterton Lakes National Park. Frank Goble, and Ed and Cheryl Mitchell were interviewed but not recorded, although notes were taken and are found with the inventory. There is very poor sound quality on the Tom Jenkins recorded interview due to a cassette malfunction. The Frank Johansen interview summary is accompanied by extensive biographical material about his great aunt, Lu Nielson.

Trumpeter Swan Naturalists Society fonds

The fonds consists of executive records regarding the formation and maintenance of the society; field records recording bird, mammal and wildflower counts; copies of the monthly newsletter, The Northern Naturalist; and copies of a collection of historical articles by F.M. Helleiner, who identified 180 bird species in the Grande Prairie area and wrote articles in the Herald-Tribune from 1953-1954. An embroidered crest, showing a trumpeter swan on a blue background, is included in the collection.
