Included are the Molotschna Colony Census file (1835) documenting a Mennonite settlement in Russia; excerpts from the Guardianship Committee of Foreign Settlers in South Russia fonds (1799-1833) documenting early Mennonite relations with the government of Russia; Ulrich Dueck fonds (ca. 1950-ca. 2001) describing genealogies of Mennonite families in West Prussia; Tim Janzen's historical map collection (1914-2005) documenting the locations of Mennonite colonies in West Prussia and southern Russia (1914-1921) including a partial transliterated index to place names (2005); and the Herman Thiessen fonds (ca. 1950-ca. 2001) describing the Thiessen family genealogy.

The collection consists of letters from Father Collignon of the St. Bernard Mission in Grourd, Alberta to Father Le Serrec of the St. Charles Mission in Dunvegan, Alberta dating from 1889. The fonds also includes photocopies of the letters, and typed transcriptions of the letters into French and English dating from 1987, written by Louise Zuk.

The collection consists of Stand Off colony records: recording of church service (1963) and singing (1971); photographs (1940s-1964); recorded interview with Jacob Walter on early history of colony (1971); sketches of early buildings; ethnological study, recorded observations and films by Dr. Karl Peter on colony life; microfilm of early religious writings (ca. 1550s-1560s), chronicle of Hutterian history (1527-1665, 1947-1960), and legal agreements with government authorities (1782-ca. 1960) (predominantly in German); articles of association for Stand Off colony (1924-1956); and genealogy of Jacob Walter family (in German). Also consists of records from a number of southern Alberta colonies, especially Red Willow: German songbooks (1800s-1955, and some microfilmed from 1696-1825); medical book (1612, in German); microfilm of religious writings (1696-1875); recorded songs and interviews; and photographs (1961-1964). Includes microfilm of correspondence between Russian Hutterite colonies (1800s).

The fonds consists of photos that depict members of the Smoky Lake Ukrainian community and the Smoky Lake Board of Trade. The provenance is unknown, but many of the people in the photos are identified, dates are noted on the photos, and some of the photos feature group portraits with identifying signs. Two of the photos are of Ukrainian groups and organizations, one is the Board of Trade Sports Committee, and the last features the four-piece Andrews Orchestra.
