Sackville photograph

Collection consists of photographs of people and scenery of the Sackville, New Brunswick, area, including: the bridge over the Tantramar River; Marshlands Inn; The Old Marine Hospital; Indian woman in native dress; Indian man in native dress; photograph inscribed, "The home of R.B. Bennett's Grandfather, Captain David Stiles, at Hopewell Hill, N.B. Here his grandmother came as a bride of seventeen, and here Lord Bennett was born." scenes of the Copper Mine, Dorchester, New Brunswick; James M. Palmer, individual photograph. Five of the photographs were taken by R.H. Smith, Sackville.

Culbertson Tract Land Claim collection

This collection comprises documents received in response to an Access to Information request addressed to Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) by the Corporation of the Town of Deseronto, Ontario, in 2008. The request asked for copies of documentation submitted as part of the Culbertson Tract land claim of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte and upon which the decision to allow the claim had been based.

The documents in this collection are all photocopies of materials located in public archives in Canada. The materials range in date from 1779 to 1959 and record the interactions between the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte and the British and Canadian governments, in relation to lands, from the time of their departure from the Mohawk Valley to the mid-twentieth century.

The collection consists of a photocopy of the diary kept by Grey Owl while he was a warden at Riding Mountain National Park in 1931; National Parks Service correspondence (1931-1958) concerning his service; Parks Canada reports concerning the restoration of his cabins in Riding Mountain and Prince Albert National Parks; materials related to Watrous's research and lectures concerning Grey Owl; and slides of Grey Owl and his wife Anahareo.

Collection consists of photographs of geologic formations and topographic features; native peoples; northern communities; logging, mining, fishing and whaling activities; survey field parties; and miscellaneous subjects including some of U.S. Geologic Survey offices and staff. Most photographs were taken in Alaska, but also represented are the Yukon, Virginia, Maryland and Texas. Texas photographs are of oil fields and refineries, ca. 1917. Most photographs are dated and include descriptive captions. Photographs received in albums but removed for conservation purposes.

Trueman & Co. and N. Caple & Co., both of Vancouver, British Columbia, and a photograph dating ca. 1950 of the Blackfoot Indians at Gleichen, Alberta by Vern Kent of the Visual Education Branch of the Saskatchewan Department of Education.

Robert and Shirley Hendriks collection of William Bleasdell Cameron

Collection consists of the textual records, photographs, tintypes, copied photographs, postcards and copies of illustrations and paintings of W.B. Cameron, as well as the research records accumulated by Robert Hendriks during the course of writing a biography about W.B. Cameron. The photographs depict various First Nations people, often dressed in traditional clothing with objects such as the Sioux pipe bag, as well as W.B.'s family and friends. There are also photographs of the site of the Frog Lake Massacre and the Frog Lake Massacre Memorial Cairn. The photographic postcards depict views of the various towns that W.B. Cameron resided in such as Le Pas, Manitoba and Lac La Biche and Vermilion, Alberta. Textual records consist of correspondence to and from family members and friends, manuscripts, editions of The Beaver, Scarlet and Gold and Saturday Night, newspaper clippings, a scrapbook of Cameron's early writings, paperwork relating to the publishing of Cameron's book as well as the republishing of the book in the 1940s and by his family in the 1970s, certificates, letters relating to the NWMP Memorial & Indian Museum in Battleford, Saskatchewan and to the Hudson's Bay Company. Also included is a videotape of W.B. Cameron's speech in 1950 at the Elk Point Bridge Opening.

The collection consists of newspaper and journal articles pertaining to former members of the NWMP, native peoples and the fur trade; some correspondence and notes about his research; and photographs of various subjects including Walter Festing Sheppard and the NWMP, Wolf Creek Ranch in the Kootenay River Valley, British Columbia, and Fred Woodward, actor and animal impersonator. Includes a (1917) song about the Royal North-West Mounted Police (RNWMP) composed by Special Constable Gardiner.
