Fundy Dahlia Society

The fonds consists of correspondence and administrative records The correspondence deals with exhibitions, the annual bulb sale, judges for shows and the purchase of bulbs by members. There is correspondence with other dahlia societies including: Rochester (NY) Dahlia Society, Connecticut Dahlia Society, the National Dahlia Society of England and especially the American Dahlia Society.

Other papers include the constitution, membership lists, rules and regulations of dahlia exhibitions, newsclippings, and reports of dahlia shows.

This fonds consists of loose notes and printed ephemera. There are programmes of lodge meetings and degree nights and printed memorial and funeral services to be used for deceased members, including cards and certificates. A brochure entitled "Odd Fellowship: Several Reasons Why" with a membership application on the back is included. There are notes for a speech given in commemoration of the Great Fire of 1877 which includes details of the organization's relief work, a list of donations by various lodges and names of committee members.

Fonds consists of correspondence, minutes, reports, scrapbooks, albums, financial records and printed ephemera. It includes papers delivered by members on a variety of musical topics. There are membership lists, a book of remembrance for past members, and a photograph album, 1926-1946. The ephemera includes scrapbooks of programs and newspaper clippings. There are constitutions and rules, 1926-1947 and programs from 1925-1958.

The extent of archival material on each of the organizations varies from only a few sheets to many folders or boxes. Many records suffered the same fate as many of the Synagogue records, being burned in a fire in 1933.

Saint John Dahlia Society

Fonds consists of bylaws and a scrapbook. The by-laws provide information about the structure of this organization. The scrapbook is dated 1932 and contains a few newsclippings and a letter about the 1932 Dahlia Show at the Saint John Exhibition. There are also some exhibitors' cards and an entry form for the 1933 show.

Saint John Jewish Historical Society

As an organizational history, the records are nearly complete and include the constitution, correspondence, reports, financial records, membership, and documentation of activities and events from 1986 to the present. Three publications – From Our Grandmothers Kitchens (cookbook - 1989), Weaving the Past Into the Present (history – 1989 and 2008) and The History of the Saint John Jewish Community (video – 1990 and 2008) have been produced by the museum. Museum's activities have also been well documented through scrapbooks and photograph albums from 1986 through the present time.

Saint John Naturalist Club

Fonds consists of 6 volumes of the Saint John Naturalists Club minutes dated 1962-1980 and September 1985 - January 1990. They include the names of the executive and some names of general members, there is also a 1974 list of members. Club activities are documented, especially their annual participation in the Christmas bird count, organized by the National Audubon Society in the United States and later by Bird Studies Canada. Considerable information about species of birds spotted, location, and names of participants is included.

There are a few financial statements and some typed notices and newsclippings concerning scheduled meetings. Copies of the club newsletter are also included. There is also a resolution sent to the McKenna government about the club's opposition to development of a coal-oil port at Musquash Harbour estuary. It includes a proposal to make the site a protected natural area.
