Tom Ward's Calgary history collection

The collection consists of essays by Tom Ward, "Chronological History of Calgary, 1875 to 1959", "The Salvation Army", and "History of Calgary Seals, Crests and Logos". Includes a photocopy of the 1905 annual report of Calgary Public Schools; and a copy of a poem by Harry Hutchcroft, "The Spirit of Calgary". Includes postcards from southern Alberta, photographs of City of Calgary seals and coat of arms designs, the 1925 Calgary jubilee medallion, historic Calgary personalities, public events, the 1915 Calgary flood, city Waterworks and Municipal Railway views and construction activities, Midnapore, Fish Creek, the Lacombe Home, personalities and activities in the petroleum industry (ca. 1942-ca. 1955), examples of Tom Ward's artworks, Tom Ward's military career, RCMP officer Doug Johnson, and Tom Ward. Includes album of views of the site of the Bowness subdivision and bridge construction start ceremony (ca. 1912). Includes an ink sketch of a West Coast totem.

Robert and Shirley Hendriks collection of William Bleasdell Cameron

Collection consists of the textual records, photographs, tintypes, copied photographs, postcards and copies of illustrations and paintings of W.B. Cameron, as well as the research records accumulated by Robert Hendriks during the course of writing a biography about W.B. Cameron. The photographs depict various First Nations people, often dressed in traditional clothing with objects such as the Sioux pipe bag, as well as W.B.'s family and friends. There are also photographs of the site of the Frog Lake Massacre and the Frog Lake Massacre Memorial Cairn. The photographic postcards depict views of the various towns that W.B. Cameron resided in such as Le Pas, Manitoba and Lac La Biche and Vermilion, Alberta. Textual records consist of correspondence to and from family members and friends, manuscripts, editions of The Beaver, Scarlet and Gold and Saturday Night, newspaper clippings, a scrapbook of Cameron's early writings, paperwork relating to the publishing of Cameron's book as well as the republishing of the book in the 1940s and by his family in the 1970s, certificates, letters relating to the NWMP Memorial & Indian Museum in Battleford, Saskatchewan and to the Hudson's Bay Company. Also included is a videotape of W.B. Cameron's speech in 1950 at the Elk Point Bridge Opening.

The collection consists of newspaper and journal articles pertaining to former members of the NWMP, native peoples and the fur trade; some correspondence and notes about his research; and photographs of various subjects including Walter Festing Sheppard and the NWMP, Wolf Creek Ranch in the Kootenay River Valley, British Columbia, and Fred Woodward, actor and animal impersonator. Includes a (1917) song about the Royal North-West Mounted Police (RNWMP) composed by Special Constable Gardiner.

MS-515: This fonds consists of programs and sheet music from the Light Opera of Edmonton. MS 515.1: This fonds consists of personal and family records of May Dornan. These records break down into four groups: scrapbooks, Catholic Church materials, miscellaneous materials, and Dennis Dornan materials. The scrapbooks consists of a photograph album of a production of "The Lass of Limerick Town"; two scrapbooks of miscellaneous materials including newspaper clippings on history, architecture and the catholic church in Edmonton, cards, notices, invitations and other ephemera; a scrapbook on family and church history; and finally a scrapbook on "The First Fifty Years" A Pictorial Review of the Origin of the Parish of St. Anthony of Padua and the Contributions made by the Pioneers, both for the Church and in the Community." Catholic Church materials consists of various publications on the church in Edmonton, including material on St. Anthony's, the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton, the Catholic Women's League, St. Agnes, St. René / Our Lady of Assumption, and Edmonton Catholic Schools. The miscellaneous materials consist of Women's Aid Society of the Royal Alexandria Hospital Recipe Book, Celebration of Marriage between Doreen Gale and Wayne Bard, Obituary: A Story, "Canada's Constitution--A Proud Moment for Alberta," Theatre Programmes, and a Granite Curling Club Roster. This fonds also contains material from Dennis Dornan, including material from his time with the Edmonton Junior Chamber of Commerce.
