The fonds consists of account book, ledger, and statements of the Boatworks along with photographs of vessels built there.

The collection consists of 91 volumes of log books of North Pacific sealing vessels detailing crews, seals taken and hunting area; 9 volumes of Entrance and Clearance logs for Burrard Inlet, Nanaimo and Victoria (1872-1889), and other assorted records relating to maritime activities.

Fonds consists of pay statements from various mines including Nanaimo (Western Fuel Corporation), Wellington Mine (Canadian Collieries, Dunsmuir) and Wellington White Rapids Mine.

Fonds consists of photographs of Wolf Mountain Mine including images of the underground workings, miners, heavy duty equipment, tools and surface views. Also includes an underground workings map.

Fonds consists of Frank Wood's account book for the Western Fuel Corporation's Employees Sick and Accident Fund and family photographs including eight views of a May 24 Parade, a group of people in front of St. Andrew's Manse, a group of people, including Thelma Harwood, in front of an unidentified building and a view of ships arriving at Newcastle Island.

Fonds consists of correspondence (1852); daybooks (1852-1854, 1857-58); a letterbook (1852-53); 24 indentures (1854), and the Nanaimo memoranda (1855-57).

Fonds consists of reproduced maps and reports, annotated by Addison, related to the Blue Flame Mine. Includes a copy of a portion of the G.H. Clapp report on gas formations in the Nanaimo Basin (1912), a copy of the Wilkinson report of Morden Mine and area (1920), a copy of a drilling report of the Big Flame Mine, and copies of sketches Addison made in 1969 of the stratigraphy in the area around the Blue Flame Mine.

Fonds consists of three plans indicating the workings of the Louden-Wakelem slopes and Carruthers slopes of Wellington #9 mine from 1949 until 1964. The latest is incomplete but does include a manuscript schematic drawing of Nanaimo mine locations. Copies of Mr. Carruthers miner's certificates, copies of newspaper articles written about Mr. Carruthers upon his retirement and his textbooks on mining are also included. A number of these are from the International Correspondence School (ICS). Also included are two Special Rules booklets that outline the rules and regulations of Western Fuel Company mines in Nanaimo and descriptions of various mine jobs (shotlighter, bratticemen, loaders etc.).
