The fonds consists of photographs, slides, negatives, maps, and textual records created and gathered by Gladys Young Blyth. These contain local scenes such as lighthouses, totem poles, Seafest activities, fish boats, crab traps, North Pacific Cannery, Kwinitsa Station, and the seaplane base at Seal Cove. The maps and sketches are of Kitselas, Port Essington, Union Passage and Tuwartz Inlet, Otter Passage to Bonilla Island, Work Channel, and a copy of the plan of the Kit-Kah-Tla Indian Reserves Coast District, 1891-1892. Her reference notes refer to the Hudson's Bay Company, First Nations, Grand Trunk Pacific Railway, the pictograph at Tyee, and the net building industry.

The fonds consists of photographs and textual records regarding the history of Tsimshian bands on the North Coast. The photographs and text panels were used for a display. There are also photographs from an album of a parade in Prince Rupert in 1961, children outside of homes, totem poles, and a building in Kitwanga. The photographs came from an album that was in the possession of Harold Ryan and were accessed after he passed away.

The fonds consists of coloured slides of Prince Rupert and the surrounding area including the airport in 1959, Oval Bay, 800 2nd Ave. West, Salt Lakes,
Skeena River, CNR Dock Fire, fishing boats, Metlakatla, a tombstone from Port Essington, Fred & Montana Dowdie, Ksan, Kitwanga and the BC Ferry.

(1949-1966); a provincial act, agenda, correspondence, minutes, and annual reports for the Provincial Advisory on Indian Affairs in British Columbia (1942-1969); a receipt book for H. Brew, Haysport (1957), and miscellaneous documents (1966-1980) including an assessment notice (1969), salmon price negotiations list (1980), and letterhead for Port Essington Special Reserve, Native Brotherhood of B.C. bearing Edward's name, and the Indian Inquiry Committee.

Also includes 1 Laurier Institution brochure entitled "The Challenge of Diversity," and 1 cover letter. Cover letter, from Ann G. Roberts, Executive Assistant, Laurier Institution, asks Dr. David Fish to amend submitted chapter and then approve the final version for publication.
