The fond consists of minutes, administrative working documents as well as student publications donated by the school to the Jewish Public Library Archives. There are also numerous photographs, not yet processed, within the JPL-A Photograph Collection. Series 1 includes textual records and photographs, which are arranged chronologically by the event or concert. Series 2 includes textual records, photographs and audiovisual material of associated professional and personal material that reflects Mr. Gesser's long-standing involvement in the Montreal and Canadian entertainment field. These records are arranged by topic. Files also include newspaper clippings for information and reference purposes. Manny Batshaw Fonds

The Fonds consists of correspondence regarding both personal and business matters, newspaper clippings (both loose and in scrapbooks), publications by AJCS and other Jewish organizations, a published biography of Manuel Batshaw, documents regarding his time as a social worker, photographs, audio and visual materials and awards. There are three series present within the Fonds. Series I covers Mr. Batshaw's personal affairs, and consists mainly of photographs, degrees, certificates, scrapbooks and correspondence. Series II covers Mr. Batshaw's career as a social worker, and currently consists of a summary of the 1975 Batshaw Report, although further accruals are expected. Series III covers Mr. Batshaw's professional work within the Jewish community, and consists of annual reports, publications, awards and photographs.

Reuben Brainin Fonds

The papers represent the scope of Brainin's life endeavours as writer, editor, biographer, critic, translator, lecturer, Zionist and one of the founders of the Jewish Public Library. The Fonds is divided into five major series: Literary and editorial activities (Gr. I), Biography and criticism (Gr. II), Correspondence (Gr. III), Special Collections (Gr. IV), and the records of the Jewish Public Library Archives Committee (Gr. V). Each group is further divided by subseries. In addition to this groups, the fonds also includes approximately fifty photographs, all arranged and described in the JPL Photograph Database.

Tylia and Eric Helfield Fonds

Series 1 and series 2 include textual records arranged chronologically. Series 3 consists of group photographs related to Wilfred Gallay's professional life and a group of family snapshots dating mostly from the 1920s. Series 4 consists of religious objects, and kitchen and tailoring artefacts documenting the spiritual, domestic and professional life of members of the Helfield and Gallay families over more than a century.

Lea Roback Fonds

Consists of 4.8m of textual records reflecting Léa Roback's work in politics, in unions and activism and also her close relationship with her family. Documents from her work in politics and in various causes include radio addresses, correspondence, fliers and reports and periodicals. The majority of the photographs in the collection are of Léa and her large family from their time in Beauport, in Montreal as well as Léa's travels in Europe. Also includes correspondence with her family members, the story of the Roback family written in prose, and various memorabilia belonging to Roback.

Steinberg/Rafman Families Fonds

The Fonds consists of correspondence with Lily Rafman (nee Steinberg), her wedding notes, her journal pages, a number of legal documents, some newspaper clippings and stock certificates about Steinberg's, and family photographs. There are three series present within the Fonds. Series I covers Lily Rafman?s personal papers. It includes correspondence. Series II is in regards to Steinberg?s store. Series III contains photographs of both the Rafman and the Steinberg families.

Jewish Labour Committee, Montreal Fonds

This fond consists mainly of working documents such as correspondence and financial papers, predominantly from the late 1940s to the 1970s. The documents deals with the advocacy activities of the JLC such as bringing refugees over to Montreal and later raising money to aid Pakistani refugees. Highlights of the fonds include correspondence between David Lewis, then secretary of the CCF, his father Moishe Lewis, and Kalman Kaplansky, both labour leaders in Montreal's Workmen's Circle and JLC.

Consists of mainly textual records related to Reuben Brainin as well as the correspondence and diary of Mizzi Brainin, mother of Judy King and daughter of Reuben Brainin. Also consists of approximately 66 photographs of the Brainin family.

Currently, the fonds is divided into five series based on the present organization: Series I - Minute Books (Bound, Executive and Directors) and Annual Reports, Series II - Executive Office, Series III - Campaign FED CJA, Series IV - Marketing and Communications Department, and Series V - Scrapbooks (1935-1967)
