In the early 1960s the Jasper Yellowhead Historical Society began collecting photographs on various subjects pertaining to Jasper's history. These photographs relating to the construction of roads and facilities in the Jasper area were gathered from various sources to form this collection.

Scope and content

The collection consists of photographs taken by G. Morris Taylor, F.A. Jackman and Joe Weiss of various roads, bridges and construction projects. Includes views of the construction of Pyramid Lake Rd (1915); widening of Mt Edith Cavell Rd (1935); Connaught Dr and the Yellowhead Highway (1941); repair and construction on the Icefields Parkway (1940's); construction of the garbage incinerator on Pyramid Lake Rd (1948); bridges (1940's); Maligne Lake Chalet (1931); Jasper townsite (1935); construction at the fish hatchery (1947); the bridge and road at Old Fort Point (nd) and the Rocky River diversion (1944 and 1946).
