Biographical history

Jerrold Alair "Jerry" Puckett, 1908-1989, was born in Wales, North Dakota, USA and moved with his family to Saskatchewan at the age of two. Over his life he worked as a wrestler, real estate agent, horseman, hotel owner, oilman, TV host (he hosted three programs on CFAC in Calgary), and car dealer. When his family moved to Calgary, Alberta in 1929 they started a chain of White Spot restaurants. During the Second World Jerry was a member of the Calgary Mounted Constabulary. Later in his life Puckett developed an interest in art and in the 1970s began to paint full-time. He was made an honorary chief of the Tsuu T'ina and was citizen of the year in Nanton in 1983. In 1978 he and his wife Alice, 1911-1991, retired to Nanton, Alberta. They had four children, Jerrold "Jerry" Jr, Gary, Bart and Lynn (MacMillan).
