John H. Riley was a Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant (RQMS) in the Canadian Army. He collected information, including maps and photographs, on the Canadian Railway Troops.
Custodial history
Document found in the effects of RQMS John H. Riley and transcribed by Ted Leaker, Director of the Ashton Armoury Museum.
Scope and content
Collection consists of a document entitled “Transcription of ‘History of 4th Battalion Canadian Railway Troops Since Organization’”. It traces the history of the CRT throughout the First World War. The author is unknown.
