Biographical history

Judge Andrew D. "Hump" Campbell was born at Red Islands, Nova Scotia, in 1890. His family moved to Reserve Mines when he was young. He was a lawyer, a juvenile court judge, and a popular sports figure in Cape Breton. He died in 1942.

Custodial history

Records were donated by Campbell's son, Dr. D. F. Campbell, President of the College of Cape Breton.

Scope and content

Fonds consists of letters from Gordon H. Harrington, clippings, deed, and genealogical notes regarding the Campbell and Curry families, and five scrapbooks related to politics, world events, Nova Scotian sports, and one related to the career of Campbell.
