Immediate source of acquisition

The 1974 auction at Bowley’s saw the fonds divided between the University of Western Ontario’s regional collection and a private collector, Mrs. E. Somerville. Upon Mrs. Somerville’s death in 1976, her portion of the collection was donated by her husband, C.R. Somerville, to the University of Western Ontario. A letter in the collection file also indicates that the regional collection transferred some ephemera to the “London Public Library and Art Gallery”.
