Lutheran Church-Canada, Central District
To collect and preserve Lutheran records which are historically significant, especially to the Central District of Lutheran Church-Canada, and to promote interest in the history of the Lutheran Church.
The Lutheran Church-Canada Central District Archives has been in existence since 1922. It has always been run by volunteer staff. The historical material relates to the formation and operations of the district, which presently includes congregations in the provinces of Saskatchewan, Manitoba and northwestern Ontario. The historical material includes convention proceedings (minutes), board of directors' minutes, incorporation documents, legal documents, correspondence, parish registers of congregations no longer in existence, conference minutes, department and committee minutes, auxiliary minutes, manuscripts, oral histories and photographs.
