Biographical history
David Maxwell "Max" Farmer, 1940-2012, was born in Calgary, Alberta. He spent all of his career in the broadcast industry as an electronic engineer, first with CHAT TV in Medicine Hat in 1960, and then with CFCN TV in Calgary after 1967. He was a ham radio operator, vintage radio collector and car enthusiast, and was a long-time member of the Calgary Amateur Radio Association. He did not marry.
Custodial history
This collection was sold by the Farmer estate to Pat Dziuba, who subsequently donated it to Glenbow.
Scope and content
The collection consists of records (correspondence, photographs, programs, etc.) regarding the history of CFCN, which was compiled over the years by Max Farmer.
