Biographical history
From its founding in 1851 until 1873, the governing body of the Montreal YMCA was the General Committee. Since 1873 it has had a Board of Directors. The YMCA Board of Directors was a group of volunteers, mostly business people, who devoted time and resources to the flourishing of the Association.
