Custodial history

The Muncey journal remained in the family where it was used as a scrapbook for several years. This has made some entries difficult or impossible to read. The Schurman account book, ledger, and papers were collected for writings on the United Empire Loyalists. The Schurmans were a prominent family of United Empire Loyalist extraction in the Bedeque area. The church scrapbooks were kept by D. Haslam's sister, Sue Muncey Lowther.

Scope and content

This collection is composed of four series including the Journal of T.C. Muncey, telegraph operator at Cape Traverse, Schurman family papers, scrapbooks of newspaper articles on churches on PEI, and a schedule of rates of pay and rules governing the service of conductors, baggagemen, brakemen and yardmen on the Intercolonial and P.E.I. Railways, 1913.
