The fonds consists of 8 copied photographs. The photographs are undated, but were originally from about 1909. The photographs feature the McPhee family (Peter McPhee), the Niton Camp, Edmonton's McDougall Avenue (100 Street), and the Stony Plain fair, and also include carriages, a prairie schooner, an automobile, oxen, cattle, logging boats, and logging.

The fonds consists of oral histories given by people who lived and worked in the Coal Branch from 1912 to 1966. The oral histories were recorded by den Otter during the course of research to complete his thesis for a Master of Arts degree in history at the University of Alberta.

Fonds consists of photographs, ca.1961-ca.1968 pertaining to wildlife (caribou, bears, sheep etc.), pack trips, hunting, hiking, mountain landscapes, cattle, skiing, Hawk's Nest ranch, Russell family members and friends. Also includes F.H.R. [Frederick Herbert (Bert) Riggall] copy negatives.

Fonds consists of course materials, correspondence, subject files, reports, clippings, printed material, and index cards, relating to Hutchinson's work with the UBC Department of Biology and Botany. The fonds reflects his research interests which included studies of conifers, forest ecology and tree genetics, particularly of the Douglas fir; to a limited extent his personal life is also documented. The fonds also includes approximately 3,600 photographic negatives and prints (most black and white, some in colour), 1,200 lantern slides, and some transparencies. The photographs are mainly microscopic images of plants and trees in British Columbia, Mexico, Cuba, Florida and South Africa in the early part of the twentieth century. There is also a photograph album accompanying Hutchinson's report Grazing Lands in British Columbia. Finally, there are a number of maps, charts, and diagrams, which are listed and stored separately.

The fonds consists of images relating to the fishing operations of McInnes Products Corporation, Limited in Waterways, Alberta, originally dating circa (ca.) 1930s and 1940s, and includes images of airplanes, cargo, lakes, fishing boats, tricks, workers, log buildings, tents, dog sleds and views of Waterways.

The collection consists of Andy Philip's news files re stories of interest to Calgarians (1967-1976).
