Fonds primarily consists of documentation related to publicity, personnel, equity, and the Canada Council for the Arts as well as scripts, production-based records, administrative files, correspondence, PACT files, contracts, annual meeting notes, ROADies records, financial statements and information, board meeting notes, brochures, audio tapes, photographs, and production posters.

Fonds contains manuscripts and typescripts (print and electronic), drafts, page proofs, illustrations, digital photographs, and published copies of the novels, scripts, and short stories written by Donna Morrissey. It also contains e-mail and printed correspondence, press material and book reviews, and resource material from a workshop.

Fonds consists of records pertaining primarily to the professional activities of Elisabeth Mann Borgese, focusing on major organizations and projects with which she was affiliated from the beginning of her North American career in the 1940s. The collection includes correspondence, publications and drafts, administrative records, conference materials, sound and video recordings, research materials, photographs, and other materials.

Fonds consists of correspondence, newspaper articles written by Cook, published and unpublished manuscripts, published articles, academic papers, association minutes, writings, subject files, financial records, and research files.

Fonds includes Alan Creighton's diaries, which cover many of the years from 1920 to 2000. Writings from the period 1920 to 1954 (many undated) are mainly short stories and poems. These writings include handwritten and typed, complete and incomplete, and published and unpublished works. There is also some correspondence throughout as well as copies of his two books of poetry. The fonds includes writings with titles such as "About Poetry," "Poetry Courses," "Thoughts," "Music & Art," and "Bedford Basin." His notebooks include evidence of a variety of courses taken, including French and Greek, music, poetry, and art (both practice and history, including Chinese art). There is also a record of his art sales from 1964 to 1999. Personal and family documents are included in the fonds.

Alan Creighton's artwork is extensive and primarily in the form of sketches and watercolours, with a few oil paintings. Many of his sketches are in albums, many of which are used exclusively for one particular aspect of his studies. For example, album labels include "People," "Trees," "Skies," "Rock Formations," "Buildings," "Railway Sketches" (scenes from train journeys), and "Outdoors." Others identify a place and time and include such labels as "At the Zoo," "Nova Scotian Sketches 1951," "South Shore 1982," and "Toronto 1996." Still others contain a mixture of styles and themes. There are also numerous loose sketches and watercolours which have been loosely arranged into similar groupings such as "Clouds," "Boats," "Flowers," and so forth. Photograph albums include photos of family and of scenes taken by Alan as a reference for future paintings.

Included with Alan Creighton’s personal items are papers, writings, art, and memorabilia belonging to his friend and roommate Christine Eyles, who died without heirs. Some relate to her employment as a violinist in England and in Toronto, Ontario and some contain her poetry, plays, and artwork (in sketchbooks and on loose paper). Published and handwritten music scores, mostly for the violin, are also included. A photograph album contains many formal portraits of family and friends taken in England in the early 20th century. Records also include papers by and about her father, Charles Eyles, a famous violin-maker. Such materials include advertisements, brochures, and letters attesting to the high quality of his craftsmanship.

The records in this accession include personal and professional correspondence, print reviews and promotional materials, one manuscript, a scrapbook, genealogy notes, and other materials collected and created by Joyce Barkhouse.

The Archives of the Writers' Federation of Nova Scotia consists of records created by the administration, members, and affiliates of the Federation. It includes a wide variety of materials including administrative records, audio/visual material, correspondence, financial records, meeting agendas and minutes for a variety of groups and committees, photographs, promotional and press material. The records refer to the adminstration and functions of the Federation, as well as its relationships with its members, government departments, and other writing, publishing and cultural groups.

Materials are mainly in English, with a small number in French. See individual Series descriptions for detailed scope and content notes.

Fonds consists of a draft typescript of Baird's "Doctor Archibald MacMechan: An Estimate and an Appreciation," commissioned by The Halifax Chronicle for their 1923 New Year's edition and withdrawn at Archibald MacMechan's request. Also present are three letters from MacMechan concerning the article and a later letter from Stanley MacKenzie regarding an essay by Baird rejected by The Dalhousie Review.

This accession contains primarily draft typescripts of short fiction and related research notes and correspondence. There are also records related to television and film proposals, including synopses and scripts. Other materials include copies of media reviews and miscellaneous business and personal correspondence.
