The lined notebook, inscribed "Annie MacKelvie, City Hospital, Boston 1895 & 1896," contains handwritten notes taken during lectures on nursing care. The first entry, dated 4 January 1895, is entitled "Surgical Dressings". The book includes notes on various medical topics such as typhoid fever, gastric ulcers, and pulse. The notebook also includes an index.

The fonds consists of textual photographs and material with accompanying documentation donated to the Archives Committee of the ANPEI. These include eight certificates and forty-two photographs of graduates of the PEI Hospital School of Nursing, newspaper clippings (1963-1990), correspondence (1981-1986), committee reports, documentation of items donated to the Archives Committee of the ANPEI, and information about the people who donated them. A short history of the organization and registration of nurses on PEI, a brochure of the Prince County Hospital, as well as information concerning the establishing of a nurses Baccalaureate program at UPEI are also contained in the fonds.

The fonds consists of records of Prince County Hospital School of Nursing. The majority of the fonds consists of students records which are arranged alphabetically and include a register of students from 1912 to 1939. The fonds also contains Prince County Hospital School of Nursing yearbooks from 1958 to 1971, alumni records, and historical records including the "The Caring Place," written by Wayne Wright and Katherine Dewar which documents the history of the Prince County Hospital and its School of Nursing.
