Scope and content
This series consists of published and unpublished research papers, articles and manuscripts written by Dr. Hoffer. They document the full range of Dr. Hoffer's research interests, including schizophrenia, megavitamin therapy, psychedelic therapy, and orthomolecular medicine and psychiatry. Included are scholarly works and those intended for a lay audience.
The series includes three sub-series: Papers for Publication, Papers (Miscellaneous); and Manuscripts. The Papers for Publication sub-series contains correspondence with various journals regarding the publication of research papers, as well as copies of Hoffer's papers which were being offered for publication. The Papers (Miscellaneous) sub-series includes a variety of articles and papers produced by Dr. Hoffer. The Manuscripts sub-series contains drafts and manuscripts for longer articles and books by Dr. Hoffer, many of which were published.
The series also includes a bibliography of Dr. Hoffer's published works from 1954-2006 (S-A 1103), and Dr. Hoffer's Adventures in Psychiatry: The Scientific Memoirs of Dr. Abram Hoffer (S-Q 415).
Additional papers written by Dr. Hoffer may be found in the Series F 410-12, F 410-13, and F 410-20.
