Margaret Pugh

The materials contained in the Margaret Pugh series consist of biographical material, her records relating to the Home Economics and Agriculture Department at the University of Manitoba, her subsequent career as a dietitian and employment as such at various hospitals including Deer Lodge Veterans Hospital. A large collection of cookbooks, recipes and research related to nutrition and health are included in the series. Margaret's hobbies and interests in collecting postcards and traveling are reflected in the materials.

This collection consists of records regarding Theatre Arts Guild's management and productions from the establishment of the guild in 1931 to 1999. Deer Lodge Scrapbook

Photographs and textual correspondance with Margaret's colleagues from the Deer Lodge Veterans Hospital. Scrapbooks were compiled to organize to chronicle these records.

Family Photographs

Photographs of friends and family members in relation to the Pugh family. These photographs were included in typed and handwritten letters and cards sent to various members of the family, though predominantly Margaret.

Fonds consist of records related to Marian Binkley's extensive research studies on the fishing industry, particularly the health and safety of fishermen and the effects of the industry on their wives and families. Population data and research on the people of Fogo Island over a period of one hundred years is also included. Records consist of correspondence, surveys with fishermen and their wives, research on the fishing industry (particuarly with regard to health problems and fatalities), notes on findings and research, interview transcripts, and audio recordings of the interviews.
