Custodial history
The past examination papers were collected by the Health Sciences Library and were available to students for study purposes. Since no papers post 1999 were distributed by the RCPSC, and students’ need for the past papers diminished, the collection was withdrawn from the library in 2011 and given to the archive.
Scope and content
Fonds contains past papers of Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada for various subjects including anaesthesia, anatomical pathology, cardiology, cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, clinical immunology, dermatology, etc. Not all dates are available for each paper, either because they were not distributed by the RCPSC or because the library did not retain a copy. Fonds consists of the following series:
1.0 Examination papers (1959-1999)

Immediate source of acquisition
Fonds was obtained from the Circulation Staff at the Health Sciences Library in December 2011.
Arrangement
When the RCPSC examination papers arrived at the Founders’ Archive, there was some degree of order present. Files were arranged into 14 volumes, loosely alphabetically based on subject. This formed the framework for the arrangement and description of the collection and the creation of a finding aid (item level).
