Scope and content

Fonds consists of personal files, personal effects, and photographs. Personal files include Department of labor mobilization section, certificate of medical examination (January 26, 1943), Certificate of Canadian Citizenship (May 26, 1951), documentation illustrating his involvement with volunteers in Israel (1987), proof of loss trip cancellation (1982), religious Hebrew documents, passports (1966-1989), his brother Shabsai Perel’s will (December 26,1973), his brother, Peter Perel’s burial certificate (February 10, 1982) and obituary, funeral certificate (August 6, 1998), and will of Shalom Perel (August 14, 1995). Personal effects include a plastic chess game, keys, candlesticks, souvenirs documents from various trips, bus pass, plaque in recognition of 25 years’ service in the Public Service of Canada, and two wallets containing personal and business cards.
