This fonds contains records belonging to Master Mariner Peter Murchison of Point Prim, Prince Edward Island. The records include letters, receipts, certificates, notebook, logbook, and a ship's registration papers.

This fonds consists primarily of photocopies of correspondence between members of the Murchison and MacLean families of Point Prim as well as several documents relating to the career of Captain Samuel MacLean. The documents span the time period 1846 to 1884 with the exception of a hand-written genealogy of the MacLean family, presumably compiled by Ann Alexander, great-granddaughter of Capt. Samuel MacLean, before 1978. There is also a transcript and printout of a digital scan of an 1877 letter. The transcript was done by Ann Alexander in 2013.

This fonds consists of four scrapbooks of newspaper articles written from 1979 to 1986 by "Ole Salt" Lorne Johnston, a notebook containing notes and story drafts, 33 files of notes and 2 files of articles on various subjects including: ferries, iceboat racing, Lower Montague, and schooner captains. There is also: a typescript copy of "Notes from My Diary" (essentially a weather diary) for the years 1919 to 1956, newspaper articles, a letter from Johnnie Williams, and a letter from Gary MacDougall.

The collection consists of twenty-four photocopied pages including handwritten notes by Mr. Steele about his memories of boyhood and the war years, a list of captains serving on the CN ferries during his employment, a list of members of the Crystal Sisters hockey team, a typewritten account of James "Stork" Gillis, and a typewritten list of Summerside policemen from 1876-1969. The four original sheets consist of one page written by Mr. Steele about the guns in Memorial Park and three pages of notes taken by Fred Horne during a December 2001 talk with Mr. Steele. The audiocassette in the collection contains a sixty-minute interview.
