The fonds consists of correspondence, minutes, project files and newsletters of the Society between 1978 and 1989. MS 395.1: This fonds consists of the administrative records, building preservation projects, tour information, and financial records of S.P.A.R.E. from the early 1980s to 2000.

Immediate source of acquisition
The fonds was donated to the City of Edmonton Archives by David Leonard of SPARE in 1989. Later accruals were received directly from SPARE in 1993. In 2001, Peter J. Smith donated a large quantity of material that forms MS 395.1.
