History

The Stewart Historical Museum is operated by the Stewart Historical Society, which was established in 1975. Its museum was opened in 1976. The museum acquires artifacts, archival records and historical reference material relating to Stewart, Hyder (B.C. and Alaska), and Premier, as well as of industry (notably mining) in the Stewart area.
