Biographical history
R.J. (Bob) Stokes and his brother-in-law George W. Dowding operated the Delta Meat Market from the late 1890s to 1902. It became the Stokes and Cullis Meat Market after George Dowding left Ladner in 1902 and Franklin Cullis bought into the business. Stokes and Cullis also operated a feed lot and a slaughter house to supply meat for the shop. Cullis left the business in 1916.

The fonds consists of two order books (1902) of R.J.Stokes for the Delta Meat Market, and two day books (1906-1908, 1912-1914) from the Stokes and Cullis Meat Market.
