Biographical history
The Thea Koerner House Graduate Student Centre was donated to UBC by Leon J. Koerner in memory of his wife in 1961. The building received the Massey Gold Medal in 1961 for its architectural design. Incorporated under the Societies Act of B.C., the Centre is administered by a manager and a Board of Directors. The Board is composed of elected members as well as by members appointed by the President of the University and by the Graduate Students' Association. The organization is intended to promote and serve the social, intellectual, cultural, and recreational activities of UBC graduate students.

Fonds consists of records which document the administration of the Centre, including the records of the Management Committee (1962-70) and the Board of Directors (1971-81), and include minutes, reports, and correspondence.
