Biographical history

Né à Paris le 28 février 1940, Daniel Kieffer devient citoyen canadien en 1966. Entre 1966 et 1995, il a été un photographe choisi par de nombreux théâtres montréalais, tels le Théâtre d'Aujourd'hui, le Théâtre du Nouveau Monde, le Théâtre populaire du Québec, le Théâtre Expérimental, le Théâtre du Rideau Vert, etc. Il a photographié des représentations de pièces aussi célèbres que «Les Belles soeurs» de Michel Tremblay. À titre de photographe, il a surtout oeuvré dans le domaine du théâtre où il a couvert plus de quatre cents productions en trente ans, et une douzaine de productions cinématographiques. En outre, il a mis sur pied plusieurs expositions individuelles et participé à plusieurs expositions collectives à titre d'auteur de photographies artistiques. Par ailleurs, il a respectivement enseigné aux départements de Design, de Géographie et de Communications de l'Université du Québec à Montréal. Daniel Kieffer a également participé à la publication d'une dizaine d'ouvrages et, entre 1985 et 1991, il a donné plusieurs conférences au Canada et au Portugal
