The fonds consists of copied photographs, originally dating 1906 to 1912, primarily taken by Augusta Dodge Thomas, of the Thomas family, homesteading, and nearby sawmills, as well as detailed descriptions about each photograph provided by Kenetha Thomas Merrill.

The records from accession PR1979.372 were deposited in the Provincial Archives of Alberta in 1979 by Mrs. E.R. Dinwoodie on behalf of Kenetha Thomas Merrill. Kenetha Thomas Merrill deposited the records from accession PR1980.108 in Archives in 1980.
