Biographical history

Timothy Dwight Ruggles was born in 1818 at Granville, N.S. He was the son of Timothy and Jane Thorne Ruggles. He married Havilah Jane, the daughter of Stephen Sneden, MLA and Mehitable Hall Thorne. He lived in Bridgetown, N.S. and was a practicing lawyer and QC. He represented Granville Township from 1858-1859 in the Provincial Legislature. He was the last MLA for Granville Township. Ruggles died at Bridgetown in 1897.
